- What
does the name Set?Communicate! mean?
I’ll answer your question with several questions, because we
like to ask questions to find the answers.
Are you ready?
Do you have everything you need?
Is everything in place or will it be soon?
All set to go?
Then communicate it!
Let us tell your story!
Get the word out!
The name itself comes from “set” being a verb and a noun.
We find out how people are set up and ultimately find ways to create
complete sets of branding tools in order to communicate their strengths
and benefits.
It’s also an acronym - Service orientation, Exceptional ideas,
and Tangible results.
- Do you
specialize in any market area?
We were advised once to find a niche market. But we already had it.
Our niche is Higher Education Brand Marketing. Since 1989, our firm
has worked with numerous large and small public and private colleges
and universities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities and
independent schools.
- How
do you price your projects?
Although some projects may appear similar, we have discovered that
no two projects are alike. Each of our clients has specific needs
and requirements that must be met. Thus, every proposal we submit
must fit the criteria of our clients’ request.
- Why
do you specialize in higher education?
Our firm understands and enjoys the challenge we face with each higher
education project we are presented. Each client represents new opportunities
for us to share our knowledge. We understand the education language
and can communicate easily with our clients.
Each client is unique and thus presents us with new challenges. We
like a challenge. And we like to get our clients the results they
want.
Let me brag a minute . . . our Admissions Marketing Campaigns have
historically brought impressive results to our clients. We understand
that we are only as successful as the last campaign we produced. We’ve
been in business for 26 years. That means we’ve had 26 years
of getting our clients the desired results.
- Do you
work in markets other than higher education?
Absolutely. Our client list includes the following markets:
Higher Education / Independent Schools / Medical / Manufacturing /
Financial / Churches / Travel / Real Estate / Retreat Conference Center
/ Architectural.
Our diverse client list and higher education specialty go hand-in-hand.
What better combination? Having a diverse client list strengthens
our position in the higher education market; just as the higher education
market strengthens our position in other markets. Why? Because higher
education is about educating students in many different career areas.
Pick any college or university and take a look at their major’s
list.
Our broad knowledge of different fields enables us to communicate
easier with our Higher Education clients. We understand their language.
- Do I
need to be concerned that you’re a small firm?
We’re more than a small firm. In the business world, we’re
considered a huge success. We’re a small firm with a 26-year
history of prosperity.
We stay in business because we create brand marketing solutions that
bring our clients success in the arenas of higher education and business.
Oops! I didn’t answer your question. No. Please don’t
be concerned. We’ve never failed a client. We can send you a
list of client references. Who better to set your mind at ease, than
someone who has had first hand experience working with our firm?
- How
long does a project take?
We will create a Production Schedule for your campaign. Every campaign
is different but we can estimate the timeframe when we first talk.
- What
is a brand marketing director?
Actually, the question isn’t what but whom — Steve Thomas.
Established in 1979 by Steve Thomas, Set?Communicate! stands as North
Carolina’s foremost higher education market branding company,
specializing in recruitment and development campaigns. Steve’s
visionary leadership, astute business direction and creative insight
into problem solving keeps the firm on an innovative track to offer
effective, results-focused brand marketing solutions.
- I’m
outside of North Carolina. Can I still hire your firm?
Absolutely. We also currently work with private and state higher education
clients in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Vermont, Virginia.
